Cro Cop in his own cage

Cro Cop buying cage for his tranings

Few good news from Mirko Cro Cop.
1st His right ankle is ok now
2nd Mirko buying cage for his tranings
3rd Cro Cop next fight maybe on UFC 73 - Sacramento (in July)???
(Hmm isn't that too early? These days he start with first tranings after UFC 70 - this is not good news)

ZAGREB - The boxing ring is past for the croatian master of free fight (thats what they call MMA) Mirko Filipovic. In the basement underneath his familys home in the Gajnice quarter of Zagreb very soon a new fighting ground will be installed - a eight-sided cage similiar to the one used in the UFC fights.

Due to the limited space, Filipovic's cage will be somewhat smaller than the original, but it will allow a realistic simulation of an UFC tournament for the croatian gladiator. Even thou the UFC and Pride, a japanese organization under which wings Cro Cop build his reputation as a top-fighter of "free fight" (means MMA), his sport with the same name (MMA), specifics and differences exist especially because of the surroundings of the fight - the cage and a classic ring.

After the recent loss by knockout in the first round in Manchester against brasilian Gabriel Gonzaga, Mirko decided not to leave anything to chance anymore. The switch to the cage will help him in any way, if nothing else than at least with the mental preparation for a fight in a closed arena.

Filipovic will finish the healing process of his injured right ankle these days, which he recieved in Manchester, to start intensive training again. His next bout in the UFC scene has to be excepted during July (in the current July-schedule the only tourament is UFC 73 in Sacramento).

awsome news. I think this will def. help him out in the UFC. I just wish they didn't put him in his next fight at UFC73...they should have given him more time.

Yes, but i think that is bigger problem for Mirko defense against elbow kick. Gonzaga was work great with elbows and Mirko was't have solution for that.

But we will see soon what will be :).

Well it isn't a big problem. A big problem would be a career threatening injury. He only has 4 fights left...he invested money into a cage which to me means he is going to work his ass off to make sure he doesn't lose his next 4 fights.

We will see what happens, but I still have faith in Mirko...He's been my favorite fighter before anybody really knew who he was. I've seen him in fights with way better oppenents. People lose and people win fights.

Some one here posted "I've seen him in fights with way better oppenent"

That's is highly suspect. Who? Silva, Barnett, Sakuraba, Fujita? No I doubt it. Hunt, Emelianenko, Randleman, Big Nog. All losses. One avenged. You haven't seen anyone better, or at least you have no valid argument.

You've never seen what Gonzaga can do. Wait! You just did! I love Cro Cop and I believe he is the most exciting fighter in all of MMA. I'd much rather watch him than Fedor even though Emelianenko is much more dominant.

However you guys that don't respect Gonzaga are just as stupid as the nu UFC fags that say " I don't see what the hype is about Cro Cop" even with the highest KO % I've seen. Gabriel
is a hell of a fighter and a close resemblance to a retarded ape, but he is here to stay. He is one of the best on earth. Open your eyes to the dirty gorilla. He is good.

Looking forward to seeing Cro Cop back. I hope he doesn't retire, and looking forward to him shutting the mouthes of the nu UFC fag generation.

Gonzaga you suck as a person and your MMA rap song is a travesty to music and the human race, but congrats on prolonging your Cro Cop defeat.

For the guy above who posted...nobody discredited Gonzaga on his win. Everyone who is a fan of MMA knows that Gonzaga won fair and square. Alot of people just wanted to see a good fight and they just didn't get what they expected from that whole night of fights. Everyone in MMA is a great fighter...if they weren't good fighters then they wouldn't have a fight contract.

It's just upsetting to see ur favorite team lose in the super bowl...that how I felt when Cro Cop lost to Gonzaga. that's all my friend don't take htings personally.

"Retarded ape", that's funny. However he did win. It sucks to see Mirko lose but I know he'll come back even stronger. Win or lose, I don't care I'm a cro cop fan for life!

I feel bad for Mirko's next opponent. He's a serious dude, and I expect he'll get his head straight & pound the crap out of whoever is next. That's how it's been his whole career.

Oh shit, just wait until CC get back, the guy he's going to fight might as well pick out a room at the hospital of his choice.
CC will become the heavy weight champion, no doubt.
