Mighty Mo (Siala Siliga) – Cro Cop’s First Dream Adversary

Mirko Filipovic is impatient to find out the name of his next adversary, his wait may soon be over.

This afternoon (Feb. 27th, 2008) the names of many fighters who should face Mirko Filipovic in his first fight for the newly founded organisation Dream were mentioned.

After Ray Sefo refused the chance to fight Mirko, a new name appeared, but this time it could be the ultimate decision. We are talking about the dangerous American hard hitter Mighty Mo: an excellent K-1 fighter who, however, has not such a wide experience in fights according to the MMA rules.

An example of Mark Hunt

His real name is Siala Siliga and he is one of the most dangerous K-1 hitters in the world. We could compare him to Ray Sef and Mark Hunt, who have already fought against Mirko according to the K-1 rules, but also in the ultimate fight. A fighter who may bring a high number of punches and each one of his dangerous attempts is a potential knock out. He is 185 cm tall, and he weighs 134 Kg. He took part in 40 K-1 fights and won 32, 26 of which were by knock out. In MMA fights, he achieved three victories out of three fights. Here he did not have reputable adversaries, but the score is surely respectable.

He took part in his first fight in the K-1 organisation on February, 2004 during an event called ‘K-1 Burning’, where he knocked out Japanese fighter Hiraki Hori with his most dangerous punch: the one with his right hand straight from above the head. He won another fight but then lost in a tournament in Las Vegas against Dewey Cooper. The defeat slowed him down a bit, but he announced a great comeback by winning his first K-1 tournament, in Las Vegas by defeating Brecht Wallis in the final.

His adversaries’ size is not important to him

Three years later he won a tournament in Hawaii, and entered history as the fighter who defeated a man 33 centimetres taller than him. This happened after a year’s break from the K-1 when in Yokohama he knocked out a man who no one ever managed to batter down before: colossal Korean Choi Hong-man, 218 cm tall. He record was kept until Karate fighter Nicholas Pettas was defeated by 37 cm shorter Kim Young-hun.

The final conclusion here is that we are dealing with a man who fights with his heart and who starts every fight with the aim to knock out his adversary. However, we have to remind that he is an educated fighter, that is, he is tactically accomplished, unlike Mirko, but better than many fighters who only count only on their strength and size. If this fight should be held, and the first prognoses are promising, we can expect fireworks. Mirko is hungry of new victories and willing to prove everyone that his time is not done, while Mighty Mo is firm in his intention to prove himself in MMA fights.
